To achieve my weight loss goals, I need to come up with a "stick-with-it" plan that works for me. This means that I should learn from those past mistakes and know myself.

From past attempts, I discovered my "pain points" and learned more about myself during the process.
(1) I quickly got bored of tracking and recording what I ate because I ate the same foods/meals over and over and over. I guess I am someone who sticks to what she knows and does not experiment very much. It would be really nice if someone prepared all my meals for me.
Lesson: More variety needed

(2) I overindulged in foods like pasta and pizza, especially at parties and other events. I think it is best to cut most of these foods from my diet until I reach my goal weight. I don't think I will feel deprived.
Lesson: Cut certain foods from diet (pizza, soda, etc.)

(3) I needed more motivation to work out regularly. Personally, I think treadmills and most other machines at the gym are boring. I need to find the right "activity" - something I enjoy.
Years ago, when I was a young adult, I rode my bike for miles and miles. I remember being eager to play tennis with my friend Kevaun in Watooka. I remember being excited about a long hike along the Soesdyke Linden highway (I think it was about 30-40 miles). And I remember enjoying skating for hours and hours. I haven't done any of this stuff in years.
Lesson: Find the right work out activity

These are mistakes I do not want to repeat.

First goal: lose 5-10 pounds by Jul 4.

New blog

This is my new blog to apply life lessons (from https://www.facebook.com/lifelessons1) for weight loss success! My first step: Create a plan. As H. Stanley Judd  stated, "a good plan is like a road map: it shows the final destination and usually the best way to get there."

For now, my plan is to eat less and exercise more. My goal is to exercise at least three times a week (maybe I'll also join a gym).  I also plan to make healthier food choices and count calories.

I know from experience that sticking to the plan is really hard so I need to think of ways to stay on track. One idea is to exercise with a friend, preferably a friend with no kids or husband like me.
I'll think about this some more.
